Di Canio or Payet?

Obviously Di Canio was at West Ham much longer but If you took Paolo's best season against Payet's best and only full season who was the better player?

PDC got me off my seat (if I had actually been sitting down) more than any player I had seen... that included Dev and Brooking at their peak as well... he was an absolute entertainer and it was a priv' to watch him and his crazy arsed but genius way of playing football...

Di Canio couldnt play away, Payet couldn't tackle. Both gifted attacking but DiCanio was passionate and worked hard - DiCanio all day long

Iv been watching us for nearly 40 years & in all that time how many true world class players can we boost?
Brooking was a very good international player (my hero) but was he true world class in those days?
Di Canio in 99-00 season was one of the best in the world imho. If he wasn't such a liability & continually upset his managers, team mates, officials & the powers that be he would no doubt have a had a good international career.

Well if we're talking about Payet's one good season & compare it against Di Canios best (99-00) then it's Paolo all day long.
Di Canio scored 18 goals (16 league) in all competitions that season, including 2 great individual goals from open play against Utd & another cracking brace against Arsenal, so 4 goals in a season against the best 2 sides in the country & against quality defenders. Did Payet play against defenders of that ilk & score against em?
I can't find the stats for his assists that season but from memory he set up a few, must be double figures leading to goals?
Di Canio's goals were arguably better then Payet's as well, the goal against Chelsea at the bridge was better then any goal Payet scored for us, let alone the one against Wimbledon which is still arguably the best goal ever seen in the premier league.
Obviously it's horses for courses but for me Di Canio is a West Ham legend & a better player who had a better carer then Payet. You don't play for the likes of juventus & AC Milan back in those days unless your a top player.
